About Us
Studio 273 is a small team of two passionate developers who are committed to creating fun, unique, and enticing indie games. Whether the genre be horror, simulation, adventure, or horror simulated adventure, if it sounds fun, we create it.
We started out in 2018 as two clueless hacks who opened Unity with a YouTube tutorial and tried to figure out what a class is. Turns out, it's not just the thing you have to go to in order to learn stuff. Years later, in 2024, we finally felt good about Unity and made decent progess on somthing.
Then, we hit a roadblock; what actually makes this game fun? After realizing we didn't actually bother to think gameplay loop after a year of work (it was a hobbyist thing, after all), we scrapped that and decided maybe Godot would be easier to play with,
With a shiny new toy in hand, we spent 2025 really working through the aspects of learning Godot and planning a real gameplay loop. After custom assets were made, a batch of music, various ideas, and a little spark of energy, we realized that a simulation game was way too effing ambitious for a first project and again sidelined the project.
FINALLY, in 2026, we decided we would pursue our next up in line plan... A horror game! We had always had a desire to do something in the realm of the mysterious, having been inspired by games like Amnesia and Outlast. We set forward the brave new idea of adapting our small Godot sandbox into a terrifying horror thriller.
Thus, Urban Explorer: Baldwin emerged from the depths of our minds and onto the screens in front of us. And now that it's here, so quickly the time has came and went, and we are back to the drawing board for our next endeavor!
